Park the Car

Hey everyone!

I'm very excited to be emailing you from Cambridge, Massachusetts today. It's a super awesome place to be. Anyway, my new companion is Elder Leavitt, and he's pretty cool. On my first day, we took a run over into Boston for morning exercise, and watched the sunrise. This Thursday marks 1 year that I've been serving the Lord on this fantastic mission. I can't believe how the time has flown, but it has been the most amazing experience.

We have 3 awesome single adult wards. We cover the MIT, Northeastern, BU, Harvard, and many other college campuses. We've had two miracles since I've been here with member missionary work. We picked up a new investigator last night that a member met at the Harvard dining hall. We went over to Harvard Yard last night and actually taught him in an empty lecture hall. It was pretty cool, but this guy is very committed. It was awesome to find such a prepared investigator.

The scriptural thought this week came from a talk given at one of the sacrament meetings yesterday. A brother quoted Romans 2:1 which says,

"1 Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things."

I love this thought because in reality, we are all imperfect. This reminded me of a quote I came across a long time ago. "Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to an understanding of ourselves." These quotes have helped me understand more about patience.

Love you all and have a fantastic week.

Elder Rogers
