Hey everybody,
This week has been fantastic. I hope you summer solstice went well, mine was pretty good.A new Elder arrived from the MTC on Tuesday. He's a great guy, and we're having a grand old time so far.
Elder Foster showed us a fantastic video last week that I forgot to mention. It's part of the 2011 youth theme "We Believe." It's called "Inviting All to Come Unto Christ: Sharing the Gospel." It's on lds.org. I've seen it before my mission, but it's a great video to watch over again.
We had a cool experience meeting with a less-active brother. The last time we went over there, he told us that he didn't believe that there would be prophets after Jesus Christ came. He believed that the Bible was complete and we need no more direction. Anyway, as he was preparing for our next lesson, I don't know if he was going to bash us or what, he came across Ephesians 4:11-12.
"11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:"
He said he found it a half hour before our visit. Because of this verse, he was converted to the belief that there is a modern-day prophet and wants to come back to church. We didn't do anything besides commit him to study the scriptures at our last visit and set the appointment up. He was The scriptures teach powerful truths and I know that if we let them be our guide along with prayer, we won't be misled.
