God sent His Beloved Son

Hey Everyone,

I hope your Christmas season is going well, and that you've found unique ways to Light the World. The weather this last week has been very cold. The temperature doesn't get as low, but the wind and the humidity make it feel really cold.

We had an investigator get baptized this weekend. He's pretty awesome. If you recall my email from the week following Thanksgiving, we had dinner with him and set a baptismal date in our first lesson. He was committed, passed his interview on Tuesday, and got baptized and confirmed this weekend. It was a really awesome experience.

I like the passage from Doctrine and Covenants 123:12-14, 17

"12 For there are many yet on the earth among all sects, parties, and denominations, who are blinded by the subtle craftiness of men, whereby they lie in wait to deceive, and who are only kept from the truth because they know not where to find it—

"13 Therefore, that we should waste and wear out our lives in bringing to light all the hidden things of darkness, wherein we know them; and they are truly manifest from heaven—

"14 These should then be attended to with great earnestness.

"17 Therefore, dearly beloved brethren, let us cheerfully do all things that lie in our power; and then may we stand still, with the utmost assurance, to see the salvation of God, and for his arm to be revealed."

The joy of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is a great gift this Christmas season. I love seeing the salvation of God in the lives of those who are truly converted by the power of the Holy Ghost. Merry Christmas
Love,
Elder Rogers
