Happy New Year

Hey everybody!
I hope you all had a happy New Year. I went to bed at 10:30 like normal, but we got to be in at 6:00. We mostly watched LDS movies and cleaned up all of our Christmas decorations, but it was fun.

This week was pretty good. Charles was baptized on New Year's Eve and confirmed yesterday. It was amazing! He's come a long way since we met him a month ago. I'm super blessed to have been able to teach him. Elder Nielson is getting transferred to the Cape Cod branch in the Hingham, Massachusetts Stake.

I read a passage today that I really love It's in Alma 37

"43 for as our fathers were slothful to give heed to [the Liahona] (now these things were temporal) they did not prosper; even so it is with things which are spiritual.

44 For behold, it is as easy to give heed to the word of Christ, which will point to you a straight course to eternal bliss, as it was for our fathers to give heed to this compass, which would point unto them a straight course to the promised land.

45 And now I say, is there not a type in this thing? For just as surely as this director did bring our fathers, by following its course, to the promised land, shall the words of Christ, if we follow their course, carry us beyond this vale of sorrow into a far better land of promise."

With the New Year, let us remember to recommit to read and live the words of Christ. They can bring great happiness in this life and lead us to eternal happiness.

Love,

Elder Rogers
