Hey everyone,
This week has been full of miracles. We had a huge rainstorm on Tuesday, and there was a double rainbow afterward, which was pretty sweet. My new comp is doing awesome. He's adjusting to missionary work fast.
One night, we planned a bunch of stop-bys. The first 3 people that we tried to see answered the door, which never happens. It was awesome. We also had a cool experience fasting for a lady. She wanted to quit smoking, but was having trouble. So we set aside a day where we fasted from food while she fasted from cigarettes. Just before the end of the fast, her daughter got in a car accident. She said she smoked two cigarettes then, but hasn't since. Her daughter was fine, and the damage to the car was minimal. She saw the God of hand in her life, and was very happy despite her trials.
I was reminded of Helaman 5:12 because of this story.
And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall.
When we build upon Jesus Christ, we'll find the joy in life despite our trials.
Love,
Elder Rogers
