How Rare an Experience

Wow,

What a great week. The weather over here once again never ceases to amaze me. Most people complain about New England weather being much worse than anywhere else. Our average last week was 76 degrees... 'Nough said. Anyway, a cool story is that this Wednesday, October 11th marks my one year of being out here in New England. On Thursday, October 12th I handed out my first Book of Mormon as a duly authorized representative of the Savior. I attached a picture of the place where I handed it out, because it's in my current area (which is a huge blessing). Here are my words one year ago:

Then we actually went out into Boston to contact people. Two other Elders and I were dropped off on Broad Street, and we walked around there and Milk Street. I don't know if you'll be able to find it, but there was a sort of monument on Milk Street (I think) where we talked to some UPS drivers. Anyway, they were eating lunch, so we talked to them about the church and stuff and one of them seemed really interested and I gave him a Book of Mormon and a pass-along card. It was the first awesome experience I had with missionary work.

This experience and others I've had this last year in the field have been amazing. I'm so grateful for a fantastic trainer who helped me along the way. Those were days never to be forgotten. I'm also so grateful to my Savior Jesus Christ who is responsible for every good thing that I've been able to be. I know I have a lot of shortcomings, but I love this work.

21 I say unto you that if ye should serve him who has created you from the beginning, and is preserving you from day to day, by lending you breath, that ye may live and move and do according to your own will, and even supporting you from one moment to another—I say, if ye should serve him with all your whole souls yet ye would be unprofitable servants.

22 And behold, all that he requires of you is to keep his commandments; and he has promised you that if ye would keep his commandments ye should prosper in the land; and he never doth vary from that which he hath said; therefore, if ye do keep his commandments he doth bless you and prosper you.

I know this is true, and I love all of you I'm very excited for the rest of this next year to be full of growth and hard work.
